Stations of the Sun Tour 2025
With his seventh studio album "Crying The Neck", Patrick Wolf has created a confident and hopeful record inspired by the transformative power of grief over the death of his mother, rehabilitation, local folklore and the East Kent landscape.
The single "Dies Irae" is an anthemic affirmation of life and is set in the days leading up to his mother's death. "Dies Irae" comes from the Latin Requiem Mass and translates as "the day of wrath" or, as Wolf puts it, "the day of separation from the living". He wanted to write a response to this idea and instead saw it as "an affirmation of life in the last days, when you know you are going to lose someone you love, and a courageous - almost rebellious - decision against misery to use the remaining time to deepen your love or joy with each other."
