For this reimagining, the performance explores the ramifications of cyborg faggotries in the era of artificial intelligence. The solo act, performed by the drag artist Hassandra, exists outside of time, somewhere between the vibrant New York of the Stonewall riots and the dark depths of Berlin’s darkrooms. It is a multifaceted and unsettling expression, contradictory and intertwined, that echoes like an ear-worm.
The co-creators of the piece, Hadrien Daigneault-Roy and Sascha Cowan, collaborated with experimental composer Luke Nickel to intertwine sound art with drag performance, creating an unconventional and unique form of performative art. This performance is the result of an initial creative cycle and will lead to the presentation of the show FAGGOT*S in 2025 at Berliner Ringtheater.
