This project is a testament to resilience, identity, love, and the power of raw storytelling. “Note to Self” describes dealing with discrimination, mourning, attempts at love and the pursuit of self-love while going through mental health challenges. Through her music, King Josephine processes all of these feelings and hopes to challenge norms, and foster a sense of connection.
Building on the success of her debut singles "Sweet Craving" and "Shitty Wine," King Josephine's upcoming EP promises to mark a new beginning for King King Josephine.
In her own words: „This project started with collecting years and years of notes, scribbles, phone voice recordings and musical ideas from my twenties, that then became demos. As a kid I always sang along and played the piano, then as a teenager wrote my own songs that were the start of understanding how I like to compose.
When the pandemic hit it gave me the final push I needed to stop working in loud live venues night after night, and finally dare to focus only on music, finding my own voice. As I grew more into myself, the music grew with me, but my voice collapsed. It’s been a long journey. This EP is my personal reflection put to tune.“
