Dieses neu zusammengestellte Quartett aus Musikern aus Berlin und Paris improvisiert und spielt Originalmusik der Bandmitglieder. Die Band hat ein gemeinsames ästhetisches Grundgerüst und legt stets Wert auf Experimente, Improvisation und Spontaneität. Die Kompositionen erforschen und lassen sich von einer Vielzahl von Stilen inspirieren, darunter; Der Free-Jazz der 60er Jahre, die skandinavische Musiktradition, die klassische Musik des 20. Jahrhunderts sowie die aktuelle europäische Avantgarde-Szene.
Julius Gawlik (DE) ist ein in Berlin lebender Saxophonist und Klarinettist. Nach Abschluss seines Studiums am Jazzinstitut Berlin wurde er schnell Teil der Berliner Musikszene. 2014 erhielt er das „Outstanding Soloist Scholarship“ der Temple University in Philadelphia und 2019 wurde ihm der JIB Jazz Prize für herausragenden Solisten verliehen. Im Jahr 2021 wurde Julius als erster Tenor festes Mitglied der renommierten NDR Bigband und arbeitete an verschiedenen Projekten im In- und Ausland mit Künstlern wie Jim Black, Jeff Ballard, Tim Hagans, Niels Klein, Johannes Lauer und Rainer Böhm
Jakob Astrup (DK) ist ein Gitarrist aus Aarhus, Dänemark. Nach Abschluss seines Studiums an der MGK und Skurups Folkhögskola lebt Jakob seit 2020 in Berlin, wo er auch am Jazz-Institut studiert. Jakob ist ein etablierter Gitarrist und aktives Mitglied der skandinavischen und deutschen Jazzszene. In den letzten Jahren hatte er die Gelegenheit, mit einer Vielzahl international anerkannter Musiker zu spielen und zu studieren, darunter; Phil Donkin, Frank Gratkowski, Kasper Tom, Peter Evans usw.
Jonas Westergaard (DK) ist ein dänischer Bassist aus Kopenhagen. Seit den 1990er Jahren arbeitet er in der dänischen und deutschen Jazz- und Improvisationsszene mit Christopher Dell, Benjamin Koppel, Christian Lillinger, Henrik Walsdorff, Marc Schmolling, im Trio Spoom (mit Ronny Graupe und Christian Lillinger[1]), außerdem mit Michael Wollny sowie den Formationen Delirium (u. a. mit Mikko Innanen) und Field (mit Oliver Steidle, Ronny Graupe und Uli Kempendorff). Im Bereich Jazz nahm Westergaard zwischen 1997 und 2012 an 33 Aufnahmesitzungen teil,[2]neben den genannten auch mit Jakob Bro, George Garzone, Søren Kjærgaard, Jesper Løvdal, Hans Ulrik, Petter Wettre und Jesper Zeuthen. Nachdem er 2006 einen Sonderpreis von Danmarks Radio erhalten hatte, nahm er mit einem Nonett das Album Helgoland (2008) mit eigenen Kompositionen auf.
Samuel Ber (BE) ist ein belgischer Schlagzeuger, Komponist und Improvisator. Mit seinen Projekten Pentadox, Malaby/Dumoulin/Ber, dem neuen Duo mit dem Gitarristen Todd Neufeld und der interdisziplinären und vollständig improvisierten Performance Scaphandres Party sucht er nach kreativen Wegen, um einen Zustand des kollektiven Flusses zu erreichen, in dem individuelle Stimmen, Konzepte und Realitäten koexistieren und verschmelzen.

This newly assembled Quartet of musicians from Berlin and Paris, improvises and performs original music by the band members. The band shares a common aesthetic framework, and always prioritizes experimentation, improvisation and spontaneity. The compositions explore and gather inspiration from a variety of styles, including; 60's free-jazz, the Scandinavian music tradition, 20th century classical music, as well as from the current European avant-garde scene.
Julius Gawlik (DE) is a saxophonist and clarinetist residing in Berlin. After completing his studies at the Jazz Institute Berlin, he quickly became a part of the Berlin music scene. In 2014, he received the "Outstanding Soloist Scholarship" from Temple University in Philadelphia, and in 2019, he was awarded the JIB Jazz Prize for outstanding soloist. In 2021, Julius became a permanent member of the prestigious NDR Bigband as the first tenor and has worked on various projects both nationally and internationally with artists such as Jim Black, Jeff Ballard, Tim Hagans, Niels Klein, Johannes Lauer, and Rainer Böhm.

Jonas Westergaard (DK), is a danish bassist from Copenhagen. Since the 1990s he has been working in the Danish and German jazz and improvisation scene with Christopher Dell, Benjamin Koppel, Christian Lillinger, Henrik Walsdorff, Marc Schmolling, in the Trio Spoom (with Ronny Graupe and Christian Lillinger[1]), also with Michael Wollny as well as the formations Delirium (among others with Mikko Innanen) and Field (with Oliver Steidle, Ronny Graupe and Uli Kempendorff). In the field of jazz, Westergaard participated in 33 recording sessions between 1997 and 2012,[2]in addition to those mentioned also with Jakob Bro, George Garzone, Søren Kjærgaard, Jesper Løvdal, Hans Ulrik, Petter Wettre and Jesper Zeuthen. After receiving a special prize from Danmarks Radio in 2006, he recorded the album Helgoland (2008) with his own compositions with a nonett.
Samuel Ber (BE) is a Belgian drummer, composer and improviser. With his projects Pentadox, Malaby/Dumoulin/Ber, the new duo with guitarist Todd Neufeld, and the interdisciplinary and entirely improvised performance Scaphandres Party, he seeks creative ways to access a state of collective flow where individual voices, concepts and realities coexist and merge.
