How is Berlin changing in the wake of gentrification? Who is affected by displacement? Who benefits? How is resistance being organised and what is being lost or just surviving? This photo exhibition examines the highly topical issues of displacement and gentrification from ten different perspectives.

You are invited to a visual journey through a Berlin in transition: about unscrupulous business models with the housing shortage, a property industry in search of returns and deals, apartment blocks and community projects threatened with demolition, the displacement of a Kreuzberg shop and Neukölln bones.

The photographic narratives were created as the final project of the reportage photography project class (director: Ann-Christine Jansson). The exhibition at Fotogalerie Friedrichshain will run for three weeks – at the opening on 30 January, two guided tours, a panel discussion and the finissage on 21 February, we want to get into conversation with you. We are looking forward to it! Be part of it – admission free!
