The most beautiful Art Nouveau theater in northern Germany: since 1908, Theater Lübeck, with its unique architecture and valuable artistic work, has been a cultural attraction in the Hanseatic city, the region and the Hamburg metropolitan area. On its three stages, a variety of musical theater and drama, a repertoire of works from the most diverse times and regions, which develops in creative contemporaneity. Operas, operettas, musicals, symphony concerts with the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Hanseatic City of Lübeck, world premieres, dramatizations of stories from world literature, musical drama productions and new productions of classical drama make theater an intense experience, a lasting experience. The programme of the three sections is rounded off by the Young plus X section, which is characterized by extensive educational work for predominantly young audiences and offers participatory projects for Lübeck citizens of all ages. In addition, Theater Lübeck also hosts numerous special events and guest performances that provide an even wider range of cultural formats.
Theater Lübeck has three in-house venues at Beckergrube 16 in Lübeck - the main auditorium, the Kammerspiele and the Studio. In addition, in-house productions and concerts can be experienced at numerous other venues in Lübeck: symphony concerts in the Music and Congress Hall, chamber concerts in historic halls on the Old Town Island and sound-picture concerts in cooperation with Lübeck museums. More recently, drama productions have also been staged at external venues and as open-air performances.
