Theater an der Angel

Many years ago, Ines Lacroix and Matthias Engel had the idea for a different kind of "theater job". Their passion for puppetry and "fishing" for audience members through street and improvisational theater gave rise to the idea of their own "Theater an der Angel".

Since 1992, with the support of friends and the acting "veteran" Peter Wittig, this "family business" has become a trademark for sensual, comedic, but often also thought-provoking theater.

To date, there have been more than a dozen productions in which other actors have played alongside Ines Lacroix and Matthias Engel. The "Theater an der Angel" has long since established itself as part of Magdeburg's art and culture scene. Theater evenings in this ambience also have something special about them because, despite all the entertainment and comedy, they also offer literature and art (and in a particularly illustrious way) that targets the heart and mind (and often also the audience's laugh muscles) in equal measure.
