In the location's words:

On the whole, I am Super Jami Kitchen. Who is "me"? First and foremost Kathi, but also Jumi Jami or officially Katharina Bretsch: cook, illustrator and cookbook author. I originally come from the world of graphic design, especially illustration. Anyone who has dined with us knows the pictures on the walls and can see a piece of my second passion. However, graphics had to make way for cooking when I graduated from the art academy. After all, the final project was my first cookbook with a bright mix of illustrations that complemented the photographs of the individual dishes. ("Kochen ohne Tiere" and later "Süßes ohne Tiere" published by Christian Verlag).

Some of you have probably wondered why Super Jami is not spelled like the English word yummy. And this is where my two favorite themes, food and art, go hand in hand. All my drawings bear the signature Jumi Jami, my artist's name. When my partner Roman and I founded Super Jami in 2015, I wanted to keep a part of my former identity. As we felt that opening our own restaurant was a super rad step, we quickly fell in love with the 'Super Jami' combo. Of course, precisely because it means "super tasty" when spoken alone. I've been the sole owner for a few years now and as part of this change, the addition of "Kitchen" was added. With the basic idea of inviting you into my kitchen. Good food, easy atmosphere. Just like at a friend's house.

The concept changes with me and my phases of life. From the start as a daytime deli with products for sale and small snacks, to a pure lunch restaurant, later to an evening restaurant, corona take-out and currently back to a daytime restaurant with the finest breakfast until 3.30 pm, snacks, full meals and a fine changing lunch menu. Nothing is set in stone and standing still and me are not the best of buddies, so Super Jami Kitchen will always grow with me and adapt to new circumstances.

If you're interested, you can check out my illustrations on Insta (jumijami_illustration) or on my website www.jumi-jami.de. But I love having you as my guests and there's plenty to look at on the walls.

Dearest Kathi
