Slow Club Freiburg

Behind the self-managed association SLOW CLUB - Verein für notwendige kulturelle Maßnahmen e.V. are committed people from a wide range of professional and age groups who voluntarily pursue the intention of expanding Freiburg's cultural offerings beyond the mainstream. The result is a colorful cultural oasis that offers events in the fields of music, theater, readings, film and the performing arts.

The planning and implementation of the events is in the hands of a volunteer organization team, which members and interested parties can join at any time to contribute their ideas and creativity. By providing the opportunities and premises for interested parties to get involved, the association is intended to act as a platform for cultural and social exchange.

This is not about profit. The program is planned and carried out by a group of very different people, with a lot of passion and in the structure of a non-profit association.
Anyone who organizes the Slow Club, stands behind the bar or cash desk, looks after the artists, closes the club late at night or cleans up the next day does so on a voluntary basis and out of conviction. Anyone who wants to become a member or help out can get actively involved.

Our premises are barrier-free and have a wheelchair-accessible toilet.

Like all our toilets, it is gender-neutral.

There is a paved ramp at the entrance, but a small metal edge of the door frame must be negotiated.

There is a bell next to the entrance door which can be used to call for assistance if you have difficulty opening the door yourself.

The event room is wheelchair accessible, the exhibition gallery can only be reached via stairs.

The event room is usually quite dark and noisy.
There are no tactile or visual markings in the Slow Club to help with orientation.
The drinks menu is written on a blackboard at the bar, there are no pictograms.

Persons accompanying people with disabilities are admitted free of charge.
