The PATHOS as a performative laboratory

We want performative research: PATHOS is committed to the open-ended exploration of artistic possibilities in all their facets; performances, discourses and innovative theatrical formats form the programmatic focus of our work.

We want social reality: Through our program at PATHOS, we want to artistically engage with social reality and question borderlines, be they real or cognitive. The goal is a great diversity of the participating actors in terms of age, gender identity, sexual orientation, social origin, race, religion and (dis)ability.

PATHOS is a digital stage, because the digital space is interwoven with the analog. PATHOS sees itself as a place that approaches the interweaving of art, theater and digital in an artistically explorative way and tries to find and test new theatrical means.

We are part of artistic networks: PATHOS is a house by and for the independent scene in Munich - and beyond the city limits. We want to work continuously and sustainably with artists and the city society. What kind of theater and what kind of space do the artists of the independent scene and this city need?

A creative free space: Our goal is to offer young artists who are at the beginning of their work a working platform at PATHOS that allows them to explore, find, fail and test different points of view. The PATHOS should open up a free space that becomes a motor for work of great independence.

We want the PATHOS: The PATHOS inspires with its architecture, its history and its spirit and enables different producing and working than most venues in Munich. We are looking forward to the flight.
