Welcome to Café NUN

Café NUN in Gottesauer Straße (Oststadt) has been enriching Karlsruhe's cultural landscape for almost 20 years.

Café NUN is run purely on a voluntary basis by the non-profit cultural association NUN Kulturraum e.V.. We organize events, bar operations, booking, technology, marketing, finances and everything else that goes with it with a lot of love and dedication alongside our jobs, studies, family and everyday life.

The program focuses on concerts with national and international artists, mostly from the singer-songwriter or (indie) folk genres. These are living room concerts in a very special bar with a unique atmosphere and an enthusiastic and very attentive audience.

Past guests have included Gisbert zu Knyphausen, Florian Ostertag, Stefan Honig, Stella Sommer, Kim Janssen (Netherlands), I Am Oak (Netherlands), Marble Sounds (Belgium), Adam Barnes (UK) and Jarle Skavhellen (Norway).

In addition to concerts, other cultural formats such as readings, cabaret and cabaret events also regularly take place at NUN. We also regularly offer participatory events such as our "Klangwerk" jam session and art workshops.

With the "Truly Weak Quiz Evening at NUN", we have also been able to establish a unique pub quiz over the last few years: However, this is not a conventional quiz evening, because in this special quiz the solutions are presented in theatrical form in dialog. That's why we call it the best quiz in town.
