The Kirchbruch lake, located directly under the Beucha mountain church, is a real gem. The church itself sits majestically on a rocky outcrop and offers an amazing view of the lake, which incidentally is shaped like a heart. 💖📸

From Leipzig, you can get there by bike in about an hour if you take it easy. It's about 15 km, the route is mostly flat and takes you through pretty villages and fields. A bit of pure nature! 🌾🚴‍♂️

And what can you do there? Lots and lots! The lake is perfect for swimming in summer - the water is clear and really invites you to cool off.

For the adrenaline junkies among you, there's also the option of diving. The lake is a popular spot for divers because it is quite deep due to the old quarry. But that's more for the more experienced among us. 🌊🤿 If you prefer solid ground under your feet, there are some beautiful hiking trails around the lake and the church. You can take the circular route around the lake and enjoy great views of the church and the lake. Ideal for a relaxed picnic or simply to switch off. 🌄🍂

Another tip: pack something to drink and snacks, as there are no stores or cafés right by the lake.
