Today, the Junges Theater still sees itself as an ensemble and repertory theater, but also as a unique free and guest space in the middle of Germany. The professional acting ensemble shares its stage so that people in the theater can meet at eye level regardless of age, origin and social status. The theater as a space for serious encounters, open to everyone, professionals and amateurs alike, for all established and experimental, regional and international theater makers. A place where we can learn from each other.

The Junges Theater is a theater of the young, in the sense of a fresh perspective. It is a modern, exploratory view that eagerly searches for new content and aesthetics and brings these into the city of Göttingen. The Young Theatre is to be developed into a research center where young students from international art academies can work with the ensemble to search for current perspectives, content and theatrical forms, as yet unknown artists and authors, in order to bring them from Göttingen out into the world.
