The Jewish Museum Augsburg Swabia sees itself as a museum of a historical minority that uses the Jewish history of Bavarian Swabia to pose questions about the present and future of our society. It is a place where aspects of migration, integration, homeland and culture are discussed from a Jewish perspective. And it is a place where it is shown that diversity is neither a threat nor an enrichment, but normality.

The over 100-year-old synagogue in Augsburg's city center is one of the most beautiful synagogues in Europe and is the center of a thriving Jewish community. The museum's permanent exhibition is housed in the synagogue building in Halderstrasse in the city center. A tour of the exhibition also includes a look inside the magnificent synagogue used by the Jewish community.

FORMER SYNAGOGUE KRIEGSHABER | ULMER STRASSE 228
The second museum location in the former Kriegshaber synagogue was opened in 2014. The oldest surviving synagogue in Bavarian Swabia was the center of an important Jewish rural community just outside Augsburg from the early 18th century until the 20th century. Today, temporary exhibitions can be seen in the former synagogue.
