The Freischütz Schwerte with its striking tower is enthroned in the middle of the Schwerter forest on the Ardey mountain range between Dortmund and Schwerte and has been a popular stop-off and excursion destination for almost 200 years. The location in the forest is absolutely unique and yet easily accessible thanks to the connection to the B236 and A1.

With the takeover in 2020, muto heimatgastronomie (known from Zum Schlipsor Balke, for example) has brought a breath of fresh air into the old walls.

The 500 m² listed ballroom is the heart of the location. A varied program ranging from music and culture to gastronomic events and large parties make the Freischütz a real meeting place

The Waldrestaurant offers upscale Westphalian cross-over cuisine that focuses on fresh, seasonal produce. It bears the signature of head chef Markus Slebioda, who, together with his team, is behind this philosophy.

The Spaten Garten beer garden with almost 1000 seats awaits you with hearty Bavarian hospitality and a cool beer. Here you can enjoy Weißwurst, Brezn & Obazda or simply bring your own snack. O'zapft is!
