The Ernst Reuter Hall was built in 1957 and is located in one of the side wings of the town hall. Designed as a concert hall, it still shows the style of the 50s. With the festive opening of the Ernst Reuter Hall on January 12, 1957, the north of Berlin received a central venue for cultural, social and political events, which, in the words of the then Governing Mayor Otto Suhr, meant a "city crown" as a center of attraction and focus for its citizens.
Since its opening, numerous renowned orchestras and solo artists from all over the world have performed in the Ernst Reuter Hall, including the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, Bill Ramsey and the Rolf von Nordneskjöld Band, Dariusz Mikulski, the Great Philharmonic Orchestra of Poland, Jocelyn B. Smith, Max Raabe and the Palast Orchester, Giora Feidman, Chris Barber, Rufus Beck and many more.
