From a movie theater to an event venue with a special flair: After more than 95 eventful years, it is hard to imagine the city and the region without the Capitol. After the then disused cinema was awakened from its desolate existence over 25 years ago, it now radiates throughout the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region. With a great deal of passion, the old Capitol cinema was developed into a modern event venue that entertains more than 130,000 people at around 300 events every year. The name of the house is now inextricably linked with Mannheim.

688 visitors take their seats on comfortable armchairs in the house. Unseated, the Capitol seats a good 1,200 guests. With the theater stage in the Casablanca, a children's theater has been created with space for 90 big and small guests. In addition, there is another event space, the casino. Since September 2022, the Rampenlicht restaurant in the casino has been a wonderful place to linger, eat and experience culture. Concerts and music shows, comedy and cabaret, company celebrations and presentations, literature and occasionally politics enliven the listed building.
