The Bürgerhaus Gemeinschaftszentrum Obervieland e.V.
has been in existence since 1977 and has become an integral part of social and cultural life in the district.

The "Bürgerhaus Gemeinschaftszentrum Obervieland e.V." is a registered association whose non-profit status is recognized. The supporting association, represented by the board of directors, decides independently and on its own responsibility on the main focus of the program. The BGO is institutionally supported by the Senator for Culture.

Ongoing groups and courses are offered for children, young people and adults in the areas of hobbies, sport, health, entertainment, neighborhood meeting places and culture.

In addition, live music events, theater and film performances as well as information events are organized. As a meeting place, the Bürgerhaus Gemeinschaftszentrum Obervieland e.V. serves as a social and cultural anchor in the district. The rooms of the community center are also rented out privately for weddings, birthday parties, anniversaries, company meetings, etc.

The community center is open to citizens and initiatives and sees itself as a base/platform for activities by citizens from the district. In addition to the full-time employees, numerous volunteers work in individual areas.
