In the middle of Gelsenkirchen's city center, we have been operating the traditional café, which is known beyond the city limits, since March 2021.

A special ambience that stands out from all other cafés offers you peace, distance and a break from everyday life.

Enjoy your visit with us in a relaxed, informal atmosphere.

The Altstadtcafé is run by the inclusion company georgs.plus gGmbH in cooperation with Sozialwerk St. Georg Werkstätten gGmbH.

Both are subsidiaries of Sozialwerk St. Georg e.V. People with and without disabilities work here on an equal footing and successfully as a team.

Together, they ensure that people with disabilities are able to participate in working life on a permanent basis.

We have an open, lively working atmosphere and opportunities to help shape things. We are guided by Christian social values and are innovative and open to experimentation.

You will meet enthusiastic and committed people here who will give you a warm welcome.

Food and drinks

In addition to snacks to go, we offer an exciting selection of breakfast, lunch and dinner dishes.

We spoil your palate with cakes, pastries and other sweet delicacies from our in-house bakery.

In summer, you can sit on the cozy terrace with a nice glass of wine and enjoy the special surroundings.
