The Aachener Weiher - the summer location for students!

The Aachener Weiher or simply "the Aachener" is one of the most popular parks in Cologne. Here people meet to barbecue, chat, chill or just roast in the sun.

The beautiful pond is the highlight of the green belt that runs through Cologne. There is always something going on here in the summer. Whether it's public viewing, great open air parties or cultural events, the Aachener is colorful! Pack your friends and find a sunny spot on the large meadows around the pond.

Here you can not only just chill in the sun, but also do some relaxed sports. There's the option of stretching slack lines and trying your hand at a bit of a balancing act. Or you can jog your laps through the park. And even if you happen to be out on your own, you'll always find a connection here. Lots of different groups of friends spend their summer days here and play the craziest games. How about a game of Viking chess, for example?

We also like to barbecue here after work and enjoy the last rays of sun with the beautiful sunsets over the pond. ( And of course we take our garbage back with us! ) If you want to avoid the barbecue garbage, but still don't want to miss out on a full stomach, the beer garden at the Aachener naturally also offers you a delicious range of small dishes.
