J.Rawls (Polar Entertainment) is a renowned producer and DJ, but also a dedicated lecturer at the University Of Ohio. As a beat maker, he has worked with Black Star, Masta Ace, the Beastie Boys and many others. In his book "Youth Culture Power: A #HipHopEd Guide to Teacher-Student Relationships and Student Engagement", he describes how hip hop strengthens bonds and expands interaction in the classroom, and which systematic and social problems can be counteracted in this way. In conversation with DJ and producer Gu (Unique/Our Label), a look at the challenges in and for educational institutions, especially in the USA and Europe, develops. The whole thing is framed by exclusive DJ sets.
