WOUNDED – Ein Abend für Kunst, Film und Solidarität

WOUNDED - An evening of art, film and solidarity

"A war leaves traces - in cities, people, memories. We all carry these wounds, no matter where we are."

On January 31, 2025, the Secret Location in Leipzig West will open its doors for a special evening combining art, film and human stories.

An experimental documentary film performance that takes up the theme of the human wounds caused by the war through music, poetry and real stories from Ukrainians. The film WOUNDED by Marta Pysanko and Misha "Mindik" Mastierovyi shows the physical and emotional scars of war in a way that is deeply moving. After the screening, the directors invite you to an open discussion to reflect on the themes of the film together.

The exhibition includes the installation "Almost Home" by Sofiia Holubeva, an interdisciplinary artist from Ukraine who now lives in Berlin. In her works, she deals with themes such as memory, home and the effects of war. With a unique approach, Sofiia combines different media to portray the human experience in a haunting way.

The exhibition is complemented by works by Kateryna Domanska/Kyate, an artist from Ukraine who explores the collective and individual subconscious as well as historical and social themes in her work.

Vidsutnist is a sound artist and interdisciplinary creator who works with electronic music and experimental sound. Inspired by abstract art, he creates dynamic soundscapes in which structure and chaos collide. His performances combine texture, rhythm and improvisation and offer an immersive sound experience.

The evening is rounded off with vegan dishes from traditional Ukrainian cuisine, prepared with love.
