Workshop: Film- und Fotoentwicklung

In the organizer's words:

Introduction to analog black and white photography with Ole-Kristian Heyer and Roland Lavelle. Here, films are exposed in cameras, developed by hand and the first prints are created in the darkroom.

In the first part (22.06.2025), the basics of analog photography will be taught. How does analog film work? What is light sensitivity and how can I control the exposure in the camera? Afterwards, all participants will load a first black and white film into the camera, expose it and develop it by hand in a can.

Building on the first part, in the second part (29.06.2025 ) the developed films will be removed from the drying cabinet and the negatives viewed on a light table. Subsequently, the further processes in the darkroom are shown, up to the finished hand print in the desired format. How do enlargers work? What are developing baths? And what analog design options do I have? We want to discuss these and your questions and shed light on them together.
