Workshop: 08 - 09.03 2025, 10 am to 6 pm

Maximum 10 participants, workshop fee 90 € (50 € reduced)
Workshop languages are English and French

We will start with a simple but ever so hard question : what is comics?
Could we define them? Can we find terms, some words to describe them bring it together?
Can we make a sentence to summ up clearly what is comics? (it's also interesting to noticethat in french we say bande dessinée as a singular, that it is not the case in english. Is it in german?) These moments of discussion will take us to some practical parts as a way to test our hypothesis. But if we can*t reach a definition what comics are, maybe we will figure out what they are not?

Exhibition information:
In 2024, Kulturnetz e.V. is continuing its close collaboration with the publishing house Adverse, which, like Kulturnetz e.V., works at the interface between artists' books and experimental comics. The comic artists Barthélémy Schwartz and Loïc Largier will be invited. Both have been experimenting with the genre of comics for years, but have taken very different paths. The exhibition working the fringes explores these two different paths and is grouped around one comic by each artist.
