WNBL is a collective of young musicians from Berlin and Potsdam who combine influences from electronic music, jazz and hip-hop to create their own mix. With WNBL invites, they have had a residency at Gretchen since the beginning of the year. As part of their constantly evolving approach to music, they regularly invite artists to create musical spaces of experience.

Kota No Uta is a Berlin-based artist, producer and singer-songwriter. Her sound is rooted in neo-soul and psychedelic soul and ranges from African music to experimental and electronic sounds. A multicultural storyteller, Kota writes her lyrics through the prism of metaphor and mythology, often inspired by daily observations of her surroundings. Her trademark is her powerful, dark-colored voice, which she likes to record and layer multiple times in her self-produced songs. Kota No Uta deliberately focuses on contrasts, creating surprising moments time and time again.

In 2023, Kota won a Female* Producer Prize from Sony Music Entertainment Germany and Music Woman.

WNBL themselves are back with a powerful brass section and a rhythm section consisting of two drummers. All those involved are musically socialized in Berlin's club culture, they all listen to dub, bass music and broken beats. Perhaps this is the reason why they never let their jazz skills show. Instead, they take jazz at its word and play impressive live sets with clever beats, improvisations and wonderful arrangements.

DJ Alkarline, whose name is inspired by the alakali-manganese cell, also known colloquially as an alkaline or alkali-manganese battery, ensures that the energy stores remain charged throughout the evening with groovy electronica.
