Will Varley on tour with his new album "Long Way Back To Now" in fall

This year, British songwriter Will Varley will release his new album "Machines Will Never Learn To Make Mistakes Like Me" and present it live in Germany in October. Three songs on the album have already been released as singles, the most recent being the wonderful "Never Get Tired Of You" in January - a declaration of love to his daughters that is very close to Van Morrison in terms of songwriting. "Whatever's Left", on the other hand, with its folky vibe and night-time melancholy, is reminiscent of Varley's perhaps best-known song "Seize The Night". "Everything Has A Heartbeat", on the other hand, is a little more lushly produced and has a subtle country twang that suits its sound very well. Will Varley says of the album: "I wrote these songs in empty dives and hospital waiting rooms. I wrote them while sitting in maternity wards, hotel lobbies, highway rest stops and broken down tour buses in the middle of the night." The album is about "trying to be a hundred different people at the same time. It's an album about hope, despair and survival. Love and dependence. The things we don't know, the lives we don't live."

Will Varley is looking forward to touring Germany again this fall after his first intimate club shows. Will Varley says: "The audiences we've had over the last few months have absolutely blown us away, and as soon as we finished in Berlin I wanted to do it all again. I've been working in the studio for almost a year now, but there's nothing better than playing live. It's been a while since I've done a proper tour like this. I'll be playing some of the best independent venues in the world and I can't wait." His many fans are likely to feel the same.
