Part 1 of the series of events for the International Weeks against Racism 2025, specialist seminar - "What is racism? - The visible in the invisible" A historical reappraisal
The subject of the specialist seminar is Prof. Dr. Wulf Dietmar Hund's book "How the Germans became white", our topic is: What is racism? - The visible in the invisible.
The speakers Modupe Laja and Dr. phil. Johanna Mamali Panagiotou will each present their analysis and findings from the book. After each presentation, participants will have the opportunity to ask questions.
Modupe Laja is a cultural scientist, part of the ISD (Initiative Schwarze Menschen in Deutschland) and a co-wife of ADEFRA.

Participants are asked to read the book in advance so that a constructive discussion and learning process can take place. Together we want to find answers to the following questions
- To what extent and how does discrimination, racism and right-wing extremism affect me?
- What experiences have I had directly or indirectly?
- What should we learn from this?
- What should we learn from each other?
- What should we talk to each other about?
- What should we rethink together?
Speakers:
Modupe Laja is a cultural scientist and is involved in cultural politics in Afro-diasporic, African and black contexts. Part of her work is the self-organization, community-building and empowerment of Afro-diasporic/Black initiatives and associations. This includes her involvement in the black feminist movement as part of the ISD (Initiative Schwarze Menschen in Deutschland) and as a member of ADEFRA (Schwarze Frauen in Deutschland) since the mid-1980s. In 2012, she founded the Afrojugend München together with black young people. She is a founding member of various civil society organizations, community leader and educational policy spokesperson on decolonial issues and writes and curates educational and exhibition formats on feminism and black representation in Germany.
Dr. phil. Johanna Mamali Panagiotou aka Victoria Mali, is a cultural historian and communication psychologist.She holds a doctorate in cultural history (Amerika-Institut, LMU) and communication psychology and has teaching experience at the University of Regensburg and at Bavarian adult education centers. She is a publisher at Verlag Büchner and a research assistant at the association frau-kunst-politik. The polyglot consultant has experience in the (re)integration of people with significant social barriers and health restrictions. Since 2010, she has led the Dr. JOPA Education & Arts initiative with cultural projects in Munich and Thessaloniki. She dedicates herself to abstract art under the artist name Victoria Mali. The polymath is the mother of three children.
Moderator: Maja Bogojević is a social scientist and Associate Project Officer at an international organization focusing on quality education for all. Since completing a Human Rights Master's degree at the University of Vienna, Maja has been a Fellow of the Mercator College for International Affairs and worked on the implementation of intersectional anti-discrimination measures at UNESCO (Paris) and the European Commission (Brussels). In 2023 she was UNHCR Innovation and Humanity in Action Mapping Democracy Fellow. Maja is currently a "Welcome Ambassador" of Project Together and on the expert panel of the Alliance Against Sexism. In addition, as an anti-discrimination expert, Maja has offered more than 150 keynotes, lectures, consultations, trainings and workshops on gender, feminism, allyship, educational equity and anti-classism, including for the Goethe-Institut, Employers for Equality and Spotify Germany. As co-founder of the award-winning digital education platform "erklär mir mal...", she also deals with questions of accessibility of political education for marginalized perspectives.
Moderator Dr. Corina Toledo Dr. Corina Toledo is the heart of the work of Frau-Kunst-Politik e.V.. Born in Chile and with a doctorate in political science, she has dedicated her initiative to the topics of equality, art and culture as well as international understanding since 2014.
With numerous panel discussions, workshops, performances and art exhibitions, she and her team have succeeded in bringing the concerns and achievements of migrant women to the public's attention.
In 2024, Dr. Toledo was awarded the "Munich shines" medal for her commitment

Since Gündalein's debut single "I'm Crazy" in 2020, the Munich rapper and singer has established herself as one of the most exciting newcomers on the music scene.

In addition to her festival appearances, the newcomer has also completed impressive support shows for artists such as Nneka, Nura, Ebow, Roger Reckless, Aymz and Sa-Roc.
