On March 14, 2025, the final event of the WEIRDSPOT event series will take place in Lübeck's St. Lorenz Church. In an emotional exploration of the space, two artists interweave atmospheric sounds of electronic music with the unique acoustics and spirit of St. Lorenz Church.
mu tate, an artist somewhere on the experimental periphery of ambient music, navigates through the soundscapes with an unmistakable signature. With recent releases on renowned labels such as 3XL and Utter, as well as a collection of self-released works, mu tate's sonic canvas captures the essence of reverberating, dub-like textures with a diffuse psychedelia. Through a blend of familiar imagery and a reverberating echo of club music, mu tate creates an ether where sonic exploration meets atmospheric resonance.
èvia is an artist from Aotearoa/New Zealand who lives in Berlin. His music and films explore states of being, development and reflection in ourselves and our environment. He has released music through Lillerne Tapes (Chicago, USA) and Stroom TV (Brussels, Belgium) and runs a label and event series called "sair qx".
Since July 2023, the Weirdspot collective has been reimagining public spaces through cross-genre music interventions, expanding the understanding of electronic music and DJ culture. The music is tailored to the location across genres, opening up new perspectives on the space. The event invites you to listen quietly and interact with the space.
Look forward to an evening full of gentle sounds and contemplative moments. We look forward to your visit.
The event starts at 19:00. Free admission, the donation box set up on site is for donations towards the church's heating and ancillary costs. This event is sponsored by Kulturfunken*
