The deep sea. An unfathomable world without sunlight. At the so-called black smokers, 300 degree hot water emerges from the earth and meets the 2 degree cold water of the seabed. Between the heat and the cold, life gathers in a tight symbiotic system. This is also where the little crab Nat lives, and his curiosity is aroused when a diving robot sheds light on the darkness for the first time. He sets off on an adventurous journey to the surface. He encounters singing whales and fluorescent jellyfish, trawling nets and plastic, and last but not least: people. After theatrical expeditions on species extinction, AI and the life of bees, Felix Rothenhäusler, together with author Jan Eichberg and musicians Jo Flüeler and Moritz Widrig, develops a musical underwater journey inspired by Jacques-Yves Cousteau, the fairy tale of the Little Mermaid and current deep-sea research, among other things.
