(ME)DIA - BIPoC is a project that gives young people (especially young BIPoC) an insight into the field of journalism and the media landscape. Through several workshops, a journalist talk and guided tours through media houses, journalistic know-how is learned and practical experience can be gained. (ME)DIA BIPoC wants to encourage young people to get actively involved in the journalistic discourse!
We invite people between the ages of 16 and 27 to take part in the project's kick-off event:
A Workshop Day in Presence with Susan Zare.
The workshop will include several elements, both theoretical and practical. Participants will learn journalistic skills such as interviewing and ways to find topics. They will be shown empowering ways to remain calm & courageous in front of an audience & camera. And what it takes to give a successful presentation. And finally, they will be supported in finding ideas and implementing their contributions.
This one-day workshop will be followed by three more webinars (28.01/04.02/19.02), where participants will be given a closer look at possible forms of presentation, practical tools to implement them and insights into everyday working life in journalism. After these webinars, the participants will create their own journalistic articles, which will be published on the zakk website and on the zakk social media channels.
The workshop, which lasts several hours, offers an ideal opportunity to gain an initial insight into journalistic practice and gain their own first experiences. Susan Zare will accompany the participants through all phases and help them to develop their potential.
