Lecture by Jens Spanjer "Green lungs with history: future prospects for historic parks in a changing climate"

Like all historic parks, the Hügelpark is facing major challenges: Climate change, extreme weather events and pest infestations are endangering the valuable tree population, and necessary restorations must be carried out carefully and in accordance with the preservation order. Jens Spanjer's lecture will use the example of Schloss Dyck Park to shed light on how these challenges can be overcome and at the same time open up a dialog about the future of these unique grounds.

Jens Spanjer, board member of the Schloss Dyck Foundation and chairman of the Association of Palaces and Gardens in Germany, is an expert on historical gardens and landscape parks and has been working in the field of monument and garden conservation for many years. Under his leadership, Schloss Dyck has implemented innovative projects to meet the challenges of climate change while preserving the historic character of the grounds.
