Few things affect our mood as much as the weather, especially as we can hardly influence it. But what was it actually like in geological times? Did weather exist and is there actually fossilized evidence of it? There are! Rocks are probably the largest and most diverse weather archive of all. Rain, frost, heat, storms, hail, snow, floods, drought and even thunderstorms have left fossilized traces.
The bilingual special exhibition (German/English) in cooperation with the GEOSKOP Prehistoric Museum (Thallichtenberg), the Bertholdsburg Castle Natural History Museum in Schleusingen and the Friedenstein Castle Gotha Foundation focuses on the weather of yesterday, today and tomorrow and invites visitors to join in and try things out at interactive stations.
