Filmclub Casablanca e.V. shows "Vena"

The story of a young drug-addicted mother who has to serve a prison sentence.

Jenny (Emma Nova) is addicted to crystal meth, is expecting a child and has to serve a prison sentence. Her boyfriend Bolle (Paul Wollin), who is also a drug addict, is not much help. However, Jenny builds up a relationship with a family midwife who has been placed with her by the youth welfare office. This enables her to face up to her fears and her responsibilities.

Chiara Fleischhacker has already won the prestigious "First Steps Award" for young filmmakers with her debut film at the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy. Based on her own screenplay, she has created a remarkable film full of emotional power, hope and tenderness.
