Velvet Two Stripes - No Spell For Moving Water Tour

Perhaps we should thank Jack White for bringing the spirit of blues rock into the modern age over the last 15 years, transmitting the meaning of one of rock music's oldest genres. White has paved the way for bands like The Kills, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Deap Vally. All of them fronted by charismatic women, celebrating the mix of garage, blues, fuzz rock and riot grrrl punk. An area where an exciting new band has recently parked their rusty van: VELVET TWO STRIPES.
Finally a European band ready to compete with the big boys of the scene, challenging the guys in their garage and proving that young women do have a feel for real blues. Their latest album 'No Spell For Moving Water' was recorded in Vancouver. Two luminaries of the rock scene are responsible for the right sound: Vance Powell (mixing, e.g. The White Stripes, Buddy Guy) and Pete Lyman (mastering, e.g. Tom Waits, Weezer).

What's next? Always moving forward, always on the move, as a trio. Sophie, Sara and Franca say: "The music remains the most important thing. We don't have to follow trends, we don't have to please anyone, just ourselves."
