Big Apple sound in Beuel: Vana Gierig has been a permanent fixture in the jazz mecca of New York for over 30 years. As a masterful improviser, the Munich-born pianist has developed a unique sound language. At the last Jazzfest Bonn, Gierig wowed the opera audience as Ute Lemper's accompanist, and now - after appearances at the sold-out Birdland Club and a successful tour of Japan - he is coming to the Pantheon for one of a few European concerts. Casually sparkling piano playing and exciting musical interactions make for an unforgettable trio concert.

They free jazz from the last speck of dust. Botticelli Baby brews up a highly explosive mixture of brute brass sections, driving beats and a strikingly rough voice. Enriched with elements of folk, funk and Balkan pop, the Ruhrpott formation combines the free spirit of Sandro Botticelli with the unfiltered rebel spirit of rock'n'roll. Known for their ecstatic live shows for over ten years, the seven guys have already set various European stages on fire. Nothing is predictable here, except of course the beads of sweat that musicians and audience alike will shed. Head off, stomach on and into the fray!
