The Osaka-born DJ and producer ¥ØU$UK€ ¥UK1MAT$U, who now lives in Tokyo, is often referred to as "your favorite DJ's favorite DJ". Just how exciting and wide his musical range is can be seen in his "Boiler Room" DJ set recorded in Tokyo, which went online a good two weeks ago. He warms up the crowd with a stoic industrial beat until the hard guitar riff of 100gec's "Dumbest Girl Alive" suddenly kicks in. Towards the end, you suddenly float to the neoclassical piano sounds of Karla Borecky, before ¥ØU$UK€ ¥UK1MAT$U gets the crowd, now shirtless, to go crazy one last time with the experimental, chopped-up groove of Italian musician Lorenzo Senni.
His compilation "Midnight Is Coming", released in July 2022, has not only long been sold out as a physical recording, but is also highly praised: ¥ØU$UK€ ¥UK1MAT$U gathers his producer friends and invites them on a largely instrumental sound journey, which at times becomes quite dark and atmospheric - a timbre that also breaks into his thoroughly euphoric DJ sets from time to time.
¥ØU$UK€ ¥UK1MAT$U is also and above all appreciated for his "A Zone Unknown" party series, which he launched in 2016. Now he is bringing this to Europe and will be performing at Berlin's Kesselhaus on April 18. "¥ØU$UK€ ¥UK1MAT$U ... invites you to a Zone Unknown" will not only highlight his skills, but also bring esteemed colleagues back on stage. He will be joined by the artists: Umru, Zoë MC Pherson (Live) & Marylou.
