50 years of the stock exchange - 30 years of Uncle Ho.
"Almost 30 years ago, we presented our first record at the alte börse. One of our favorite concerts! We say: HAPPY BIRTHDAY, dear börse! Never die!"
On September 28, the Wuppertal band Uncle Ho will be playing a concert together with Heyday where, after a series of unplugged gigs, they will be doing what they did 30 years ago at Wuppertal's summer of love: Noise!
They first performed together on stage in Wuppertal in the summer of 1994. In spring 1996, they presented their first record at the börse. 30 years later, they are adding another chapter to their band history, a story that began in Wuppertal-Vohwinkel and took them all the way to New York. Uncle Ho's songs played on radios all over Germany, their videos rotated on VIVA and MTV, they toured throughout Europe and their records were even released in the USA and Asia.
With their 2003 album Everything Must Be Destroyed (5 stars in the SPEX), the trio decided to dissolve themselves, only to resurrect 10 years later with the album The Manufacture of Madness and the single hit "Terror Takes Shape", tearing down the beatz and cookies in the video shoot. Just last year, they released the album Futura Octopus on their own label (Die, Spotify!). The band became famous for their rock sound and live energy.
HEYDAY
There was a reunion last year. Once again. At the börse. And it was fun. But really fun!
And the songs felt fresh and people celebrated. And then you can't let 10 years go by again.
Thank you for inviting us to your birthday. We'd love to come and congratulate you and then also with our sandpit buddies from Uncle Ho. What could be better?
