Treffpunkt Ehrenamt auf dem Paderborner Weihnachtsmarkt

Christmas market visitors should make it a point to visit the "Christmas market hut for voluntary work". For many years, the Social Participation Department of the City of Paderborn has used this Christmas market hut to offer associations, organizations and initiatives the opportunity to present their voluntary work, provide information about their work and recruit new team members. This year, this "meeting point for voluntary work" will be located to the right of the town hall in the direction of Neuer Platz. A total of 37 different groups will be there from November 22 to December 22. Every day a different group will occupy the Christmas market hut, on some days even in double occupancy. As last year, there will be an additional barrier-free hut for 4 days, in which the association for people with disabilities will present itself. On two other days, this volunteer hut will be used by Mayor Michael Dreier, who will support the WDR 2 Christmas Miracle with a campaign from here. The barrier-free Christmas market hut for volunteers will be located at the entrance to the Rathauspassage from December 12 to 15, 2024.

"Making volunteering visible" is the aim of the organizing department of the Social Welfare Office. "Without the diverse range of voluntary work, our urban society would be a lot poorer, which is why it is important to us to create this opportunity for volunteers to present themselves," says department head Michaela Weigel. "We are delighted to see that this year's event is once again very popular and that there is great demand for this offer," Weigel continues.
