When Arthur Schnitzler published his story in 1925, a shudder ran through Viennese society. The mercilessness with which he laid bare the soul of a well-mannered married couple shocked people. The story was adapted numerous times after Schnitzler's death - one of the most famous being Stanley Kubrick's film adaptation Eyes Wide Shut starring Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise.
Now actor Andreas Pietschmann and musician Stefan Weinzierl embark on a nocturnal foray. In search of the hidden longings of our psyche, they wrap Schnitzler's well-known tale in an atmospheric, dense tapestry of language and music.
