Tornado Watch / Schwindelfrei Festival

In the organizer's words:

How can we face the crisis with curiosity? And what does theater have to do with science?

In Tornado Watch, two obsessed meteorologists work on recreating weather phenomena on a room scale. Everyday objects are used to create a performance installation about analog weather simulations - future weather, fictitious weather and impossible weather.

Tornado Watch approaches major topics such as the climate catastrophe and the question of individual responsibility with playful irreverence. To a subtle soundtrack, we watch planets spin, planes take off and ice cubes crumble while we wait for a storm that may never come. A playful plea to remain curious in times of crisis.

Katharina Joy Book is a German author and performer. Eszter Koncz is a visual artist and performer from Hungary. Since 2020, they have been working together in Prague on performances that subtly shift the focus from people to their surroundings (and back again).
