After the sold-out opening concert at the recent summer festival, the Canadian folk-pop eccentrics are returning to Hamburg as a duo. Support: Dream-pop poetry by the Swiss Mel D.

Timber Timbre's summer festival opener in August sent the kmh Club into an apocalyptic-jazzy frenzy, which was met with jubilant euphoria from the audience. In March, the band around frontman Taylor Kirk will return as a duo to once again transport the audience into cheerful melancholy, this time in an intimate, seated setting, and to trace the current, crisis-ridden zeitgeist. With a penchant for vintage synthesizers, dystopian sounds and influences ranging from Leonard Cohen to Alice Coltrane and Brian Wilson, they create "incomparable music, spooky and groovy at the same time." The Graubünden singer-songwriter Melanie Danuser aka Mel D, who seeks hope and confidence in dreamy indie pop - and finds it in energetic performances on stage - is also part of the band and a gentle counterpoint to the gloomy analysis of the present. She has already made a name for herself in the Swiss music scene as part of the electro-pop duo mischgewebe and as guitarist for Faber. October also saw the release of her debut EP "Not Crazy" - a collection of personal, sensitive lyrics accompanied by gentle guitar sounds that paved the way for her promising solo career.
