Since their formation in 2005 ,Timber Timbre from Ontario have released seven highly acclaimed studio albums between indie folk, gospel, echoing fairground glam and Americana. After their sixth album "Sincerely, Future Pollution" from 2017, things had become a little quieter, but they returned in the fall of 2023 with "Lovage", an album that channels the sad light-footedness of Brian Wilson as well as the amused melancholy of Leonard Cohen. Singer and songwriter Kirk Taylor would probably also count Sun Ra, Dorothy Ashby and Alice Coltrane as well as Italian singers such as Pino Daniele and Paolo Conte among his influences. Top band, one way or another. Incidentally, "Lovage" means "Liebstöckl" in German, did you know that?
