The Unknown Flesh

In the organizer's words:

An intermedia performance that explores gender diversity with AI.

Three performers move through the gender categories of male, female and diverse and explore how AI understands gender diversity. Like in a character editor without preset parameters, they form new shapes and shift boundaries with every movement. A visual and physical exploration of gender beyond rigid categories. What remains when we overcome them? "The Unknown Flesh" creates a unique symbiosis of art and technology, in which the gender-specific knowledge of AI merges with the living presence of the performers.

Queer Theater Collective

The Queere Theater Kollektiv consists of queer artists and amateur actors who produce theater projects that question social norms and make queerness artistically and aesthetically visible. Based in Dortmund, the collective works across disciplines and combines expertise from the digital and performing arts, computer and social sciences as well as queer and discrimination-sensitive approaches to open up new perspectives on gender, identity and technology. It is committed to the promotion of LSBPATINQ+ emerging artists and the visualization of queer life realities.
