The Sky is der Himmel (UA)

In the organizer's words:

Beuschel, Pomp and Bobby Duffy are scientists who have been sitting in the heart of the last nuclear reactor for countless years, lovingly monitoring its decay. When a group of visitors suddenly appears in front of the three of them, they know: once again, science is expected to conjure up an improvement in circumstances for people. After all, since the "Great Disappointment", society has been characterized by unprecedented phlegmatism: no optimism, no belief in a changed or even better future seems possible anymore. If the three of them were to switch the reactor back on, they could of course easily create a new general euphoria.

The scientists initially react negatively to the unexpected visit, whose narrow view and illusory expectations they have not had good experiences with. At the same time, they like the interest, and not least the new company, after decades of solitary research.

Do the three of them have a responsibility to the people? And if so, what does that mean?

The Sky is the Sky is an absurd evening about the questions of salvation or progress and about communication between science and society.
