There are bands that effortlessly manage to turn every song into an anthem - be it through profound lyrics about universal feelings or rousing melodies that make even small club shows feel like stadium concerts. The American synthpop duo The Midnight belong in exactly this category.

The band consists of a rather unusual duo: singer-songwriter Tyler Lyle, who grew up in the southern states of the USA, and Danish producer Tim McEwan. After living very different lives, they met at a songwriting session in Los Angeles in 2012 - and immediately wrote two songs that were released two years later on their debut album "Days of Thunder".

With their album, The Midnight established themselves as one of the leading representatives of the synthpop genre and quickly won fans all over the world. Their subsequent albums "Endless Summer" (2016) and "Nocturnal" (2017) continued their success - with high rankings in the electronic charts and top positions on Bandcamp.

The Midnight's sound thrives on contrasts: Tyler Lyle's lyrics often take up classic American dreamer stories and tell of community and longing. Tim McEwan's soundscapes then lend the songs an almost cinematic atmosphere. The result is a unique blend of euphoric rhythms, bittersweet synthesizer sounds and hopeful, romantic lyrics. This synergy is particularly evident on the three albums "Kids" from 2018, "Monsters" from 2020 and "Heroes" from 2022. Although they were created over several years, they seem like a coherent story bathed in neon lights. The band themselves describe it as a trilogy about self-knowledge (Kids), self-love (Monsters) and empathy (Heroes).

Having originally started out as a duo, The Midnight have since expanded their live shows to include talented musicians: Leila Broussard on bass, Royce Whittaker on guitar, Justin Klunk on saxophone and Kwesi Robinson on drums ensure that the band's epic sound is fully realized on stage. And they do this impressively well - their concerts are a rousing experience in which the musicians' joy is immediately transferred to the audience. The perfectly staged light show and well thought-out set list turn every concert into a cinematic journey - and a single, unforgettable party.

And it is precisely this party that The Midnight are finally bringing back to Germany this fall - with three exclusive concerts!
