The Memories ... and the beat goes on ...

In the organizer's words:

The Solingen rock and beat band THE MEMORIES, in existence since 1968, is truly a rarity.
a rarity.

For 56 years now, the Memories have been known and loved not only in Solingen, but far beyond the
the city limits, especially among fans of the older generation who still experienced rock and beat live.

The name Memories is also the band's program, because the music evokes memories of great bands and singers in the audience. It also evokes personal experiences from the good, wild days of rock'n'roll and the beat of the 50s, 60s and 70s.

When the musicians play the hits of Elvis, Chuck Berry, Wanda Jackson, Roy Orbison, Cliff Richard, the Beatles and the Rolling Stones, CCR, Steppenwolf, Golden Earring, Spencer Davis Group and many other artists from back then, the audience can no longer stay in their seats.

They storm the dance floor and sing along at the top of their lungs. The good mood and the musicians' joy of playing quickly spread to the whole hall.

The members of the band today are from different age groups, from the 75-year-old co-founder
co-founder to the youngest singer, aged 19.
But what they all have in common is the fun and enjoyment of this music, which is interpreted in the original sound of the time.

Since the music of the 80s is also oldies, the band also plays hits from that time, e.g. from
from this period, e.g. by Tina Turner, Katrina and The Waves, Robbie Williams, to name but a few.
just to name a few.

The current line-up of the band consists of

the singers Claudia Masanovic, the experienced one, Florentine Rennert, the youngest, both singing and dancing, as well as the singer Guido (Palli) Palenschat, the most infectious beard in Solingen.

The drums are played by Mike Holfeld, known as the Animal ... the keys are played by Jürgen Spitzer, each with decades of experience in jazz, blues and rock.

Frank Rogall, the wild one who chases across the stage, strums the solo guitar. The rhythm guitar is played by Eddie Höhne, known as the "old man", the level-headed co-founder of the band who has everything under control.
The bass is played by Georg "Schorsch" Steinbrück, who also sings the occasional song.
These three guitarists are also among the most experienced and well-known musicians in Solingen.
