One thing is clear: Florian Brettschneider lives and breathes music. The 27-year-old Frankfurt-based multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer studied concert guitar at the HfMdK in his adopted city and has won numerous national and international guitar competitions during his classical career. He has never put on stylistic blinkers. In addition to his busy studio work as a producer, composer and songwriter, he is a sought-after sideman and musical director for singer/songwriters, soul, RnB, jazz and bossa nova artists and live productions. He has worked with classical stars as well as RnB, rap and pop artists. His unmistakable solo style combines the playing techniques and complex polyphonic structures of the classical guitar with modern live electronics and groove and explores a very unique, almost pianistic approach to the instrument. In conversation with Gregor Praml, we will find out more about all this and, of course, get to hear Florian Brettschneider's skills.
