The Ramrod empire is on the verge of collapse - and away from its patriarchal structures, the Faggots and their friends are having a good time. Living in free communes, they celebrate who they are undisturbed. With art, music and uninhibited sexuality. However, they do not forget their history, but use the memory to prepare another peaceful revolution.
Based on Larry Mitchell's cult novel from the late 70s, Philip Venables and Ted Huffman create a wild musical spectacle that ignores boundaries just as much as their characters do on stage. For music and dance, they draw on baroque, Broadway and rave. The protagonists are actors, narrators and musicians, all at the same time and all in turn. A musical adventure that dissolves gender and genre norms in order to replace them with individuality and joie de vivre.
