The Bony King of Nowhere is back with a new record! Bram Vanparys (the Belgian musician's real name) last made a lasting impression in 2018 with the release of his critically acclaimed album Silent Days and the award for "Best Author/Composer" at both Music Industry Awards (MIA). On 02.02.24 he released his new, sixth album Everybody Knows.
Recently released on Unday Records, Everybody Knows was a long time coming (around five years to be exact). This was partly due to Vanparys' personal ambition to never repeat himself and to constantly surpass his creative abilities. The first two pre-release singles already gave a clear indication of what to expect from this new album
can expect from this new album: On the one hand, "Are You Still Alive" and "Almost Invisible" bear The Bony King of Nowhere's clearly assignable signature of spherical sound palettes (the artist name is not based on a Radiohead song title for nothing); on the other, they add many more nuances and details to the latest longplayer and make Everybody Knows a
great overall work, which transports The Bony King of Nowhere into even higher artistic realms. Topics such as the daily grind and blind obedience, well-worn social paths and behavioral patterns, the ignorance of so-called "big shots" and the disadvantages of modern online communication are dealt with in the eleven tracks on Everybody Knows. Inspired by the observations of various sociologists, Vanparys dissects what is probably the loneliest society in human history on his new album. However, the album is not only thought-provoking, but also gives hope and strength on gray days.
