Tetjus Tügel (1892 - 1973) was one of the most dazzling artistic personalities in northern Germany. Equally gifted as a poet, painter and musician, countless stories surround the extraordinary life of this "all-round genius". His travelogue about the adventurous hike from southern Sweden to Haparanda (Lapland), which he undertook in 1929, also bears witness to this. On foot, without money, with an accordion in his luggage and armed with paper and pencil, he set off together with two no less daring companions. He describes the imponderables of this crazy journey in a humorous and extremely entertaining way.

The unpublished travelogue comes from the artist's estate. While researching the play "Tetjus Tügel - eine Hommage", this extraordinary document fell into the hands of actor and director Oliver Peuker and never let go.
